Tyler Albers from the United States Forest Service, Pagosa Ranger District is in need of adults who have interest in our youth and trails on June 2nd. On the 2nd , volunteers will work in Turkey Springs and help with the Pagosa Middle School 8th Grade Service Project. The game plan for the day is to reroute a section of the Turkey Springs Trail. The meeting location would be Turkey Springs Road between Next Jack Road and West Monument Road near the cattle guard. The meeting time will be around 9am (may change slightly depending on the Middle School). The duties for the adults would be to assist with trail building and also be “eyes” on the ground for safety. There is a ZERO tolerance policy with kids, trail tools, and horse play – this event to be safe and enjoyable for everyone.
If you plan to help with the project please wear sturdy hiking/work boots and please bring gloves for yourself. If you have your own trail tool please bring it.
Tyler additionally needs a volunteer with a high powered digital camera to take pictures throughout the project. Pictures will be used in The Pagosa SUN.
