Short Trail Summary: This hike description is to junction with the Continental Divide Trail No. 813.

To reach the Palisade Meadows Trail hikers must first reach the junction of the trail located approximately 3.5-miles up the Indian Creek Trail No. 587. Turning north at this junction, the trail begins ascending switchbacks through dense forest and rounds a 12,153-foot unnamed peak on the east before jogging hard to the south, then north again. Reach the junction with the Continental Divide Trail No 813 at 1.8-miles.

Directions: Drive North on Piedra Road (CR 600/FS 631) 22-miles to the intersection with the FS 640 (Williams Creek Road). Turn north (Right) and drive an additional 4.9-miles to the trailhead located at the end of the road and next to the Palisades Horse Campground.

This ‘descript’ is so confusing to me—here’s the way i see it: to get to PallisadeMeadows you MUST START on 587/WillaimsCrkTH,(out of that CG, not PallisadeCG) THEN to 588/IndianCrk, THEN 651 (w/2 ‘forks/Ys/turns) and to get to CDT junction(with cairn+post marker) is ~6miles total ONE WAY—the description above does not make that clear—it seems as if it easier—(i only did it once as an overnite—also horses use first miles a Lot; and trail was torn up pretty badly the one time i went)
